How it works

  1. Ask a question, or don’t

Bring something on your mind, or simply ask the cards for guidance.

  2. Shuffle and draw

Esmé shuffles the deck and lays out three cards: past, present and what lies ahead.

  3. Hear your reading

Your reader turns each card and speaks its meaning to you, then ties the spread together.

Esmé waving hello, smiling under her plum hood.

Your reader

Meet Esmé (EZ-may)

Gentle, wise and warm.

Esmé keeps the lamps lit in the Candlelit Parlor. She has a soft voice, a quick smile and a habit of noticing what you meant to say but didn’t.

She is especially fond of questions about love, about crossroads, and about the first nervous steps of something new. Ask her anything, or ask her nothing at all and let the cards choose the subject.

“Welcome, traveller. I am Esmé. Sit, and be comfortable…”

Questions, answered

Is it really free?

Yes. Everyone gets two three-card readings with Esmé every week, no card needed. Your free readings come back every Monday. The Parlor Pass adds more readings for those who want them.

Is this real fortune-telling?

No. Readings are for entertainment and reflection. The cards are drawn at random, and nothing here predicts the future or replaces medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. Many people find a reading a gentle way to think something through.

Is Esmé a real person?

No. Esmé is a virtual character, and her voice is generated with AI. Her readings are written to be warm and thoughtful, but she is a character, not a counsellor.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, in one click from your account. You keep the Parlor Pass until the end of the period you have paid for, and anything you have bought, like reading credits, stays yours.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The parlor is built for phones first and runs right in your browser, so there is nothing to install. You can add it to your home screen if you like.

Is my question private?

Yes. We never sell your questions or readings. They are processed only to create your reading, and you can delete your journal or your whole account at any time. Read more in our privacy policy.
